JICA-Net is a distance technical cooperation project promoted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
It is a new scheme for international cooperation to complement JICA's technical cooperation activities that uses a wide range of information and communication technologies, such as video conferencing, multimedia contents and internet applications.
JICA-Net has been in operation since 2002, and embodies the concept of "The Comprehensive Cooperation Package to Address the International Digital Divide" adopted at the Kyushu-Okinawa Summit in July, 2000.
